Public Hearing On a Proposed Amendment to the Jefferson County Comprehensive Plan in the McCalla Area for the Expansion of the Jefferson Metropolitan Industrial Park
The Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Commission will hear comments on a proposed Amendment to the Comprehensive Plan in the McCalla area on both sides of Old Tuscaloosa Highway to allow for the expansion of the Jefferson Metropolitan Industrial Park. The Jefferson County Economic and Industrial Development Authority has requested rezoning of property adjacent to the existing industrial park for expansion and the Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled this hearing to consider amending the Comprehensive Plan in a manner that would allow consideration of the rezoning of the property.

Public Open Houses Concerning the Potential Expansion of the Jefferson Metropolitan Industrial Park
The Jefferson County Economic and Industrial Development Authority (JCEIDA) is hosting an Open House along with Jefferson County,to receive public input on the Authority’s needs to expand the Jefferson Metropolitan Industrial park south to Kimbrel Cutoff Road and including a portion of the area north and west of Old Tuscaloosa Highway near Lowetown Road. This change would require a modification of the County’s Comprehensive Plan for the Shades Creek Watershed and the Planning and Zoning Commission of Jefferson County will be participating in the Open House to receive comments on these plans.
After this Meeting there will be a follow-up meeting to address any concerns raised and to discuss possible solutions.

The Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on changes to the Comprehensive Plan at 1:00 pm, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th in Room 260 of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 716 Richard Arrington, Jr. Blvd. N, Birmingham.
Plans showing potential changes will be available at the Open Houses and staff of the JCEIDA and the Planning and Zoning Commission will be available to answer questions and take comments.The Open Houses are not formal meetings, but are forums for discussion where you can come in and discuss the project any time between 6:00 and 8:00.
