Jefferson County contracts for residential garbage collection in unincorporated parts of the County. The contract was bid in 2024 and Amwaste was the only responder. The contract went into effect on April 1, 2025.

The quarterly charge for each 95-gallon cart is $59.58. Only household trash put in the carts will be collected. Additional carts, yard waste collection, or back door service are additional charges.

2. Click Create A Request
3. Select the request type: Trash Service
4. Enter the location of the problem
5. Hit Submit

• Memorial Day- May 25th, service delayed by 1 day
• July 4th- No delay since it falls on Saturday.
• Labor Day- September 7th, service delayed by 1 day
• Thanksgiving- November 26th, Thursday and Friday services will be delayed by 1 day. This will only affect 1500-2000 residents of Jefferson County. The zip codes affected are 35216,35226,35223,35094,35242,35243, and 35244
• Christmas- December 25th , Friday is the only day that will be delayed.  Zip codes affected: 35216,35226, and 35244
