Birmingham, AL – This evening the newly constructed Patton Chapel bridge is open to traffic, but the area is still an active construction zone. Residents are urged to use caution as the project is not complete and intermittent lane closures and traffic control measures will be needed for a period of time. We will continue to post updates on the message signs in the area.

Jefferson County appreciates both ALDOT and the contractor, Ikaros, working with the County to open the bridge before the contract completion date to reduce impacts to the community. Again, we urge travelers in the area to drive slowly as workers will continue to be present in the roadway.
