COVID-19, Office Closed to the Public

Due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Coroner/Medical Examiner's Office will be closed to the public through at least April 6, 2020.

The following procedures will be implemented effective on March 17, 2020:

All release of personal property is suspended.
Call the office at (205) 930-3603:

to report a death.
to speak with a Deputy Coroner/Investigator regarding a case.
to request permission for cremation.
to request a copy of an examination report.

It is our hope that we will be able to resume normal operations soon and we apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
